As of February 20, 2026, Ukraine’s logistics market is showing increased momentum and change. According to reports from the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, communications from the State Customs Service of Ukraine, and information provided by market participants, logistics operations are currently functioning under heightened load. The main trends concern road transportation, border crossing points, and import customs clearance.
Queues at the Western Border
In February, longer waiting times for freight vehicles were recorded at certain border crossing points with Poland. The main reasons include increased exports of agricultural products and uneven distribution of transport flows.
For Ukrainian companies, this results in:
- longer delivery times;
- additional idle-time costs;
- delayed return of vehicles to the domestic market.
As a result, the availability of trucks for domestic transportation decreases.
Increase in Domestic Transportation Tariffs
Due to a shortage of vehicles and rising operating costs, rates on certain domestic routes increased on average by 8–12%. Routes leading to border logistics hubs remain the most sensitive.
For businesses, this means a need to consolidate cargo, pre-book transport, and optimize routes. In this context, the use of integrated 3PL solutions becomes particularly relevant.
Tightening of Import Customs Control
In February, the implementation of risk-based inspections continues. The number of requests to confirm customs value and origin of goods has increased.
Importers are advised to pay special attention to the accuracy of invoices and contracts, as errors may lead to additional inspections and delays.
Other Key Developments in the Logistics Market in February 2026
Growing interest in rail transportation
Due to instability in the road transport segment, some exporters are shifting cargo to rail. The highest demand is observed in the grain and metal products segments. At the same time, limitations related to wagon turnover and handling speed remain at certain stations.Modernization of border infrastructure
Infrastructure upgrades at selected western border crossing points are ongoing. These measures are expected to reduce cargo clearance times in the medium term, although they may temporarily affect transport flow speed.Digitalization of logistics processes
Ukrainian companies are increasingly implementing warehouse and transport management systems. Demand for integrated WMS/TMS solutions is growing due to the need for cost control and idle-time reduction.Stricter enforcement of drivers’ working-time regulations
In international transportation, compliance with tachograph regulations is being checked more rigorously. For carriers, this means higher requirements for documentation and internal compliance control.
